Cloudflare adds Cursor agents to Sandboxes platform on September 2
Cloudflare launched a partnership allowing Cursor Cloud Agents to run inside its controlled environments, enabling enterprises to execute AI coding tasks within isolated containers while retaining workflow familiarity.
Cloudflare announced on September 2 that it is integrating Cursor agents into its Sandboxes platform. This update permits developers and enterprise teams to run Cursor's Self-Hosted Machines using Cloudflare Sandboxes as the execution environment. Cursor manages the agent loop, including inference, planning, and orchestration, while commands, file edits, and repository operations execute inside isolated Cloudflare environments. Each session runs in an isolated container backed by Cloudflare Containers. The integration allows agents to start and manage from Cursor's desktop, web, and mobile interfaces. Under this model, a worker in the customer's infrastructure runs the Cursor command-line software and maintains an outbound HTTPS connection to Cursor's backend without requiring inbound connections into the network. Dane Knecht, Cloudflare's chief technology officer, stated that developers seek AI tools fitting existing workflows while enterprises require operations within controlled environments for handling sensitive resources like credentials and build caches.
