Bolt Celebrates 10 Years in Kenya With Sh19 Billion Investment and Eight Million Riders

Transport company Bolt marked a decade in Kenyan markets following a Sh19 billion investment, connecting eight million riders since 2016.

Bolts mobility platform celebrated its tenth anniversary in Kenya after investing more than Sh19 billion in the local market. The company connects over eight million riders and has created income opportunities for more than 170,000 drivers and couriers. Since entering the country in 2016, ride-hailing services have expanded to cover 19 towns across six regions including Nairobi, the Coast, and Western Kenya. Dimmy Kanyankole, Senior General Manager of Rides for East Africa, stated that Kenya was not a market entered lightly. He added that the sector has evolved from new technology into a significant source of income and flexibility for thousands of Kenyans. The company plans to continue investing while expanding opportunities for drivers, businesses, and communities as ride-hailing becomes an increasingly important part of Kenya's digital economy.
