Bitcoin whale unrealized profits hit record $9.07 billion on Sept. 4
CryptoQuant data shows short-term holder whales hold the largest unrealized profit ever tracked at $9.07 billion, though this dropped by $1.5 billion following a 2% price decline.
Unrealized profits for Bitcoin short-term holder whales reached a historical high of $9.07 billion on September 4, according to on-chain analytics from CryptoQuant. This figure represents the largest reading recorded since the platform began tracking whale profitability in 2016. These wallets hold coins acquired within six months and currently sit with an aggregate profit exceeding $9 billion. The group's sensitivity to spot price movements is significant; a daily drop of 2% in Bitcoin/USD reduced unrealized gains by approximately $1.5 billion, a 17% decrease. Short-term holder break-even points remain near $69,000, closer to the current market price than long-term holders. CryptoQuant analysts indicated that further downward pressure could trigger selling from this cohort as profits erode quickly. Additionally, Binance exchange reserves have risen toward two-year highs near 692,000 BTC, reflecting broader accumulation trends.
