For context, Jan Leike of OpenAI noted in May 2024 that safety culture was yielding to product launches; his farewell reached approximately 6.1 million views. Mrinank Sharma, previously on Anthropic's security team, warned the world is in danger when leaving in February 2026. His alert generated around one million views and five thousand shares within the first two days. Earlier that year, Geoffrey Hinton departed Google to speak freely about risks. As one of AI's founding fathers and a Nobel laureate, he had reduced his estimate regarding when general artificial intelligence might emerge.
