Deputy Prime Minister Dr. Ekniti Nitithanprapas concluded the Bangkok Business Summit 2026 today in Bangkok, declaring that Thailand must transition to high-income status as a global imperative. The official stated at the closing address in the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center that clear goals have been established with stakeholders fully aligned on this objective. Dr. Ekniti emphasized that entering these new horizons requires unified action to guard against geopolitical, technological, and climate risks while capturing emerging opportunities for the region. He outlined a strategic blueprint anchored by an upgraded Joint Public Private Committee (JPCC) to facilitate private-sector syndication and investment-led growth. The national transition plan directly incorporates a recipe provided by the World Bank that matches the strategy presented by Thai business leaders at the summit.
