KKR Co confirmed on September 4 that it has agreed to purchase a minority stake in Malaysia's Avisena Healthcare. The global investment firm stated the deal aims to support Avisena's next growth phase. This includes expanding multi-specialty services at its flagship hospitals in Shah Alam and building new greenfield hospitals in the Klang Valley. KKR, which manages over $20 billion in healthcare investments globally, did not provide financial details regarding the transaction when contacted by reporters. Elina Nadia Omar, Avisena Healthcare's group CEO, said the partnership will help expand capabilities and deliver care to more patients. Earlier in August, Reuters reported KKR as a preferred bidder for a potential stake valued between 300 million and 400 million ringgit ($74.25 million to $98.97 million). Avisena declined to comment on the deal's financial specifics.
