Hyperscale Data shuts down Michigan Bitcoin mining to host 20-megawatt AI data center

Hyperscale Data ceased Bitcoin operations at its Michigan facility after a California provider inspection, signaling a shift toward artificial intelligence infrastructure backed by a potential $1.2 billion contract.

Hyperscale Data ended all Bitcoin mining operations at its Michigan facility on Wednesday following an inspection by an unidentified California-based neocloud provider. The company switched off all miners to clear space for an artificial intelligence data center customer, which contracted for 20 megawatts of computing capacity under a ten-year master services agreement. This initial deal may generate more than $1.2 billion over its maximum twenty-year term if the customer exercises both optional five-year extensions. Potential revenue could rise above $3 billion with an additional 32 megawatt option, while the site is expected to support a total of 340 megawatts. Hyperscale plans to fund this conversion by selling Bitcoin from its treasury and intends to sell the associated mining equipment. The project represents a strategic pivot from cryptocurrency operations to high-performance computing infrastructure. Company stock closed Wednesday at $0.1984, approximately 17 percent lower than the opening price, reaching a split-adjusted record low after touching an intraday bottom of $0.1932.
