Axel REE extracts 95% gallium and 74% scandium at Tiger Creek deposit in Brazil

Axel REE reported achieving 95% gallium extraction and up to 74% scandium extraction from samples taken at its Tiger Creek deposit in Brazil. These results stem from independent testwork conducted by Core Resources on a composite sample containing 63 parts per million of gallium, alongside a second program focusing on scandium. The mineral has been identified as a potential alternative source for the critical metal, which is currently produced almost entirely in China as a by-product of alumina processing. To reach these figures, Axel REE utilized two separate acid systems, allowing the company to avoid reliance on a single chemical process. Patience Mpofu, the managing director, stated that reaching this extraction rate represents a significant advance for the metallurgical program. The findings were derived from tests on samples sourced directly from the Caladão project within the Tiger Creek deposit.
