Augusto Cury announced on Monday that he intends to keep Brazil's Pix payment mechanism if elected president, though he stated it would require specific adjustments. He did not provide further details on the changes or explain what they entail. During a press event in Copacabana, Cury emphasized a foreign policy approach described as peaceful yet non-subservient. He mentioned plans to negotiate directly with leaders like Javier Milei and other nations within the BRICS bloc, citing concerns over US-led financial taxes affecting global exports. The announcement comes amid ongoing government investigations into Pix by American authorities. In separate market news, investors in Motilal Oswal Digital India Fund saw their Net Asset Value increase 5.19% after ESDS Software made a strong listing on its IPO. The fund held 10.25 lakh shares of the new company at ₹429 each before trading opened, representing roughly ₹44 crore in assets. This initial stake comprised nearly five percent of the fund's total holdings valued at approximately ₹907 crore as of July 31, 2026. ESDS Software closed its first day of trading at ₹908.40, an gain of 112% above its issue price. Fund manager Varun Sharma noted this anchor allocation contributed significantly to the single-day movement despite the broader Nifty 50 index rising only marginally.
