Alpha Dhabi Doubles MICAD Credit Commitment to $1 Billion
Alpha Dhabi Holding increased its stake in Mubadala Capital's MICAD Credit joint venture to 40 percent. The group now contributes $1 billion to the platform managing over $1.7 billion in assets.
Alpha Dhabi Holding has agreed to contribute $1 billion to the Mubadala Capital-managed MICAD Credit joint venture, doubling its previous capital commitment. Simultaneously, Alpha Dhabi raised its ownership stake from 20 percent to 40 percent. Hamad Salem Al Ameri, managing director and group chief executive of Alpha Dhabi Holding, described the move as a deliberate step to access a wider universe of global private credit opportunities. The revised partnership agreement expands the venture's mandate beyond its initial focus on direct-lending in the United States and Europe. This expansion leverages Mubadala Capital's existing relationships with investment partners and market participants. Currently, the MICAD Credit JV manages approximately $1.7 billion in assets across 45 portfolio companies. Alpha Dhabi stated that private credit is becoming a significant component of its group's overall investment portfolio. By increasing its share of this platform, Alpha Dhabi aims to integrate more private credit strategies into its existing operations.
