SS Retail intends to raise 360 crores in a fresh issue while an offer for sale generates another 140 crores, causing the promoter group's holding to fall to 64.9%.
SS Retail Inc., an Indian multi-brand mobile retailer, announced plans to fund capital expenditure and working capital through a fresh issue raising ₹360 crore. The company also plans to raise ₹140 crore via an offer for sale. Following this capital structure, the promoter group's stake will decline from 75.7% to 64.9%. Incorporated in 2016, SS Retail operates under brands including SS Mobile and Mobile Exchange Wala through both company-owned and franchisee formats. As of March 2026, the firm ran 503 stores nationwide, with 458 located in Maharashtra, where 89% of total revenue originates. Sales are heavily weighted toward mobile phones, representing around 86% of turnover. The business relies on top four suppliers for half its inventory. Competition remains intense from major chains and e-commerce platforms such as Reliance Digital, Croma, Amazon, and Flipkart. Company executives indicated the capital raise supports financial sustainability efforts amidst this competitive landscape.
