Dino Mavrookas resigns from Vista Equity Partners to launch $9.25 billion defense tech startup
Former Navy SEAL and senior partner at Vista Equity Partners, Dino Mavrookas, has quit his job to become the CEO of Saronic, a valued US$9.25 billion company.
Dino Mavrookas recently resigned from his position as a senior associate at Vista Equity Partners in Austin, Texas. After roughly five years in the private equity sector where he reportedly earned a six-figure salary, he decided to leave the industry. In an interview on the Sourcery podcast, Mavrookas explained that he questioned whether staying in finance was the right path for his next two to three decades. He stated that while he had learned about investments and business management, he no longer wanted to spend the rest of his career in that role. Mavrookas announced his resignation one night to his wife before seeking a new direction. He is now working as the co-founder and CEO of Saronic, a defense technology startup. The company has an estimated valuation of US$9.25 billion. Mavrookas was previously an active member of the Navy SEALs.
