U.S. analysts forecast average gasoline prices to reach $4.03 per gallon this September

War costs and political campaigns in the U.S. drive fuel prices near record highs ahead of Labor Day weekend.

Austrian analyst Patrick Dehan predicts that the national average price of gasoline will hit $4.03 per gallon on September 2nd, just days before the U.S. observes Labor Day. Dehan, working for Gaz Bank Group, compares this projection to a previous record of $3.83 per gallon set in 2012. He argues that while prices have not broken their all-time high historically, they represent the highest levels seen at this time of year. This surge coincides with ongoing conflicts in the Middle East increasing energy costs and the U.S. Congress election season intensifying political campaigns. Consumers are facing fuel costs at unprecedented levels during the holiday period.
