They argued that companies like Kalshi operate across all 50 states without adhering to local gambling laws. Davenport noted the petition seeks answers for how Congress intended these industries to function under the 2010 Dodd-Frank Act. The attorneys general argue Congress did not grant immunity from state statutes. Kalshi claims to offer legal betting options nationwide while rejecting specific state regulations. The case aims to determine if these companies can be compliant with federal bodies like the Commodity Futures Trading Commission while simultaneously violating state codes.
