Foreign investors turned buyers in Brazil's stock market during September, injecting R$ 3.9 billion in net capital into the B3 across the first three trading sessions of the month. On September 3 alone, net inflows reached R$ 1.7 billion. This surge coincided with a rise in the Ibovespa index, which was trading at 188,022 points and up 1.55% by Tuesday afternoon (8). The index has gained approximately 6% for September and 31.9% year-to-date. This positive trend contrasts sharply with August, when foreign outflows totaled R$ 18.1 billion, reaching a peak of R$ 23.20 billion by August 20.

Meanwhile, domestic investors withdrew significant capital. Institutional investors pulled out R$ 1.6 billion, and individual investors removed another R$ 2 billion during the same period. In contrast, Bank of America calculated that foreign investors added approximately R$ 6 billion to Brazilian stock holdings over ten days, partially offsetting roughly R$ 20 billion in withdrawals recorded in the three months prior.
