Former Fed Chair Jerome Powell Sells Maryland Estate for $7.2 Million

Jerome Powell sold his six-bedroom waterfront mansion in Maryland off-market for $7.2 million, less than three months after ending his eight-year term as Federal Reserve chair.

Real estate records indicate former Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell has sold a home on Gibson Island, Maryland, for $7.2 million. The property changed hands in an off-market transaction on August 4. Public records show the 7,155-square-foot residence features eight bathrooms and sits on a two-acre lot overlooking the Magothy River. It includes a private pier with a boat lift, a swimming pool, and stone terraces. Realtor.com data confirms the home was built in 2004 and originally purchased by Powell and his wife, Elissa Leonard, for $3.86 million in 2006. The sale occurred less than three months after Powell concluded his eight-year term as chair of the Federal Reserve. No public listing service included the property in recent searches. Another home owned by the couple on the same island remains in their family.
